कदाचिद् दिवसान् पज्च समुत्पत्य विहड्भमा: । षछ्ेडहनि समाजम्मुर्न चाकम्पत जाजलि:,कभी-कभी वे विहंगम उड़कर पाँच-पाँच दिनतक बाहर ही रह जाते और छठे दिन वहाँ लौटते थे, तबतक भी जाजलि मुनि हिले-डुले नहीं
kadācid divasān pañca samutpatya vihaṅgamāḥ | ṣaṣṭhe 'hani samāgamya na cākampata jājaliḥ ||
भीष्म उवाच—कदाचिद् विहङ्गमाः समुत्पत्य पञ्च दिवसान् बहिर्वसन्ति। षष्ठेऽहनि तत्र समाजग्मुः; तथापि जाजलिर्मुनिर्न चाकम्पत॥
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights unwavering steadiness (acalatā) in tapas: even when circumstances change over several days, the disciplined person remains unmoved, illustrating self-mastery and endurance as ethical strengths.
Birds that had been present fly away and stay out for five days; when they return on the sixth day, the sage Jājali has not shifted at all, emphasizing his intense, continuous austerity.
