Vānaprastha-vṛtti and the Transition toward the Fourth Āśrama (वानप्रस्थवृत्तिः चतुर्थाश्रमोपक्रमश्च)
यथा योगाद् विमुच्यन्ते कारणैर्यर्निबोध तत् । योगैश्वर्यमतिक्रान्तो यो निष्क्रामति मुच्यते,योगी जिस प्रकार और जिन कारणोंसे योगके फल-स्वरूप मोक्ष लाभ करते हैं, अब उन्हें बताता हूँ सुनो। जो परवैराग्यके बलसे योगजनित ऐश्वर्यको लाँघकर उसकी सीमासे बाहर निकल जाता है, वही मुक्त होता है
yathā yogād vimucyante kāraṇair yan nibodha tat | yogaiśvaryam atikrānto yo niṣkrāmati mucyate ||
व्यास उवाच—यथा योगाद् विमुच्यन्ते कारणैर्यन्निबोध तत् । योगैश्वर्यमतिक्रान्तो यो निष्क्रामति मुच्यते ॥
व्यास उवाच
Liberation is not achieved by clinging to yogic attainments; true freedom comes when the yogin transcends even the extraordinary powers produced by Yoga and moves beyond their sphere.
Vyāsa continues an instructional discourse in the Śānti Parva, introducing an explanation of the means by which yogins attain release, emphasizing that yogic ‘powers’ are not the final goal.
