Vimokṣa-niścaya: Pañcaśikha’s Analysis of Aggregates, Guṇas, and Tyāga (मोक्षनिर्णयः)

iti śrīmahābhārate śāntiparvaṇi mokṣadharmaparvaṇi vārṣṇeyā adhyātma-sthāne dvādaśādhika-dviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
इति श्रीमहाभारते शान्तिपर्वणि मोक्षधर्मपर्वणि वार्ष्णेयाध्यात्मकथने द्वादशाधिकद्विशततमोऽध्यायः॥
भीष्म उवाच
This verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement; its function is to frame the teaching as part of the Mokṣa-dharma (liberation-oriented dharma) within the Śānti Parva, emphasizing the text’s ethical-spiritual orientation (adhyātma) and formally closing the chapter.
The narrative voice signals the end of a chapter in Bhīṣma’s extended instruction to Yudhiṣṭhira in the Śānti Parva. It identifies the larger book (Śānti Parva), the subsection (Mokṣa-dharma), and the chapter number (212), serving as an editorial boundary marker.
