अज्ञान–लोभयोः परस्परहेतुत्वम्

Mutual Causality of Ignorance and Greed

एतदेव हि कार्पण्यं समग्रमसमीक्षितम्‌ | यच्चेत्‌ समी क्षयैव स्याद्‌ भवेत्‌ तस्मिंस्ततो गुण:,यदि सारी बातोंपर पूर्वापर विचार न करके कोई कार्य आरम्भ किया जाय तो यही कायरतापूर्ण दोष है और यदि भलीभाँति आलोचना करके कोई कार्य हो तो यही उसमें गुण माना जाता है

etad eva hi kārpaṇyaṁ samagram asamīkṣitam | yac cet samīkṣyaiva syād bhavet tasmiṁs tato guṇaḥ ||

शौनक उवाच—एतदेव हि कार्पण्यं यत् समग्रं विषयमसमीक्ष्य प्रवर्तते। यच्चेत् समीक्ष्यैव प्रवृत्तिः स्यात्, तदेव तत्र गुणो भवति।
