Apaddharma Determination: Dialogue of Viśvāmitra and the Śvapaca
न त्वेवास्मद्विधः प्राज्ञ: सम्मोहं गन्तुमरहति
na tvevāsma-dvidhaḥ prājñaḥ sammohaṃ gantum arhati
न त्वेवास्मद्विधः प्राज्ञः सम्मोहं गन्तुमर्हति।
भीष्म उवाच
A truly discerning person should not surrender to moha (delusion). Wisdom is shown by steadiness of judgment and refusal to be carried away by confusion, fear, or passion.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction-setting, Bhīṣma is counseling and correcting the listener’s state of mind, asserting that one who is genuinely wise—especially someone expected to uphold dharma—should not lapse into bewilderment.
