अध्याय ३: कृपस्य दुर्योधनं प्रति नीत्युपदेशः
Kṛpa’s Counsel to Duryodhana
सुचिरेणार्जिताल्लोकान् सद्यो युद्धात् समश्षुते । “कौरवो! युद्धधर्मसे बढ़कर दूसरा कोई स्वर्गका श्रेष्ठ मार्ग नहीं है। दीर्घकालतक पुण्यकर्म करनेसे प्राप्त होनेवाले पुण्यलोकोंको वीर क्षत्रिय युद्धसे तत्काल प्राप्त कर लेता है!
sañjaya uvāca | sucireṇārjitāllokān sadyo yuddhāt samaśnute |
सञ्जय उवाच— सुचिरेणार्जितान् लोकान् सद्यः युद्धात् समश्नुते। क्षत्रियस्य हि युद्धधर्मात् परो नास्ति स्वर्गस्य मार्गः; दीर्घकालेन यत् पुण्यैः प्राप्यते, तत् शूरः संग्रामेण क्षणात् लभते।
