Chapter 23: Śakuni Reports, Kaurava Advance, and Arjuna’s Penetration of the Host
रथैरश्ववरैर्युक्ता: किड॒किणीजालसंवृतै: । आज म्मुरथ रक्षन्त: कुन्तीपुत्रं युधिष्ठिरम्
rathair aśvavarair yuktāḥ kiḍakiṇījālasaṃvṛtaiḥ | ājagmur ratha-rakṣantaḥ kuntīputraṃ yudhiṣṭhiram ||
रथैरश्ववरैर्युक्ताः किङ्किणीजालसंवृतैः । आजग्मुरथ रक्षन्तः कुन्तीपुत्रं युधिष्ठिरम् ॥
संजय उवाच
Even in war, righteous leadership is sustained by disciplined protection and loyal support; safeguarding the dharmic king is presented as a collective duty of his followers.
A contingent arrives with well-equipped chariots and fine horses, their vehicles adorned/covered with a bell-net, and they take up positions to protect King Yudhiṣṭhira on the battlefield.
