विदुर उवाच
Vidura urges steadfastness in higher discernment—especially knowledge of consequences beyond this life—because such wisdom, revered by sages, safeguards dharma and prevents moral collapse under pressure.
In the Sabha Parva context of counsel and moral warning, Vidura addresses a Pāṇḍava, exhorting him not to relinquish sage-approved insight about the hereafter and praising his intellect as superior even to the famed king Purūravas Aila.
