This verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement: it signals textual closure and locates the chapter within the Mahābhārata’s hierarchy (Parva → episode/section → chapter). Its ethical import is indirect—reminding the reader that speeches and actions (here, Śiśupāla’s words within the Śiśupāla-vadha context) are framed and evaluated within a larger narrative order.
The chapter ends. The colophon states that the forty-first chapter of the Sabhā Parva—connected with the Śiśupāla-vadha episode and focused on Śiśupāla’s speech—has been completed.
