Educational Q&A

The colophon highlights the ethical tension between rightful honor (arghya offered according to merit and dharma) and uncontrolled anger. Śiśupāla’s wrath functions as a caution: when pride and resentment override discernment, one’s speech and conduct in public assembly become instruments of adharma and escalation.

This is a concluding colophon for the chapter: it states that, within Sabhā Parva and the arghya-offering episode, the thirty-seventh chapter—focused on Śiśupāla’s anger—has ended. It signals a transition point after the depiction of Śiśupāla’s outrage in the royal assembly context.
