Jarāsandha frames moral legitimacy in terms of svadharma (a ruler’s ordained duty) and niyama (self-restraint), claiming that blameless governance and disciplined conduct should not be met with careless accusations.
In the Sabha Parva context, Jarāsandha responds defensively to opponents who treat him as culpable; he asserts he is established in kṣatriya-duty and has not wronged the subjects, so calling him an offender is, in his view, mere pramāda (heedless misjudgment).
