मागधगिरिव्रजप्रवेशः — Entry into Girivraja and Jarāsandha’s Protocol Inquiry
जरासंधो<पि नृपतिर्यथोक्तं कौशिकेन तत् | वरप्रदानमखिलं प्राप्पय राज्यमपालयत्,इधर जरासंध भी चण्डकौशिक मुनिके कथनानुसार भगवान् शंकरसे सारा वरदान पाकर राज्यकी रक्षा करने लगा
jarāsandho 'pi nṛpatir yathoktaṃ kauśikena tat | varapradānam akhilaṃ prāpya rājyaṃ apālayat ||
जरासन्धोऽपि नृपतिर्यथोक्तं कौशिकेन तत् । वरप्रदानमखिलं प्राप्य राज्यं न्यपालयत् ॥
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Power or exceptional capability gained through a boon should culminate in rājadharma—protecting and sustaining the kingdom. The verse links acquisition (prāpti) with obligation (pālana): receiving a boon is not an end in itself but a basis for responsible rule.
Vaiśampāyana reports that Jarāsandha followed Kauśika’s directions, received the boon completely, and then proceeded to safeguard and administer his realm—marking a transition from gaining divine/ascetic favor to exercising kingship.
