नारद उवाच
The verse highlights an ideal of royal excellence: a king’s court should embody order, dignity, and merit so fully that it can be favorably compared even with divine standards. It also implies that human achievement, when aligned with rightful rule and cultivated excellence, can rival what is celebrated in heaven.
In the context of the Sabha Parva, Nārada visits and speaks in Yudhiṣṭhira’s court, praising the extraordinary assembly-hall. He states that although he has seen the gods’ halls, Yudhiṣṭhira’s hall is the finest in the human realm.
