Chapter 6: Dāruka’s Report; Arjuna Witnesses Dvārakā’s Desolation (दारुकवृत्तान्तः—अर्जुनस्य द्वारकादर्शनम्)
pradyumno yuyudhānaś ca kathayan katthase ca yau | tau sadā kuruśārdūla kṛṣṇasya priyabhājanau ||
The verse highlights the ethical value of steadfast loyalty and worthiness of affection: true closeness to a righteous leader like Kṛṣṇa is grounded in consistent devotion, service, and proven character, not mere fame.
Vasudeva responds to an interlocutor (addressed as ‘Kuruśārdūla’) who is speaking admiringly of Pradyumna and Yuyudhāna, affirming that both were always especially dear to Kṛṣṇa—an emphasis typical of the Mausala Parva’s reflective tone after the great events.
