Chapter 6: Dāruka’s Report; Arjuna Witnesses Dvārakā’s Desolation (दारुकवृत्तान्तः—अर्जुनस्य द्वारकादर्शनम्)
kālaṁ kāṅkṣe sadya eva rāmeṇa saha dhīmatā |
The verse emphasizes dignified acceptance of Kāla (the inevitable course of time/death) through dharmic self-discipline—seeking a sacred setting and relying on virtues like purity and contentment rather than fear, agitation, or clinging.
Vasudeva declares his intention to withdraw to a holy place and, together with the wise Balarāma, calmly await the destined end—signaling the closing movement of the Yādava era in the Mausala Parva.
