Even the most illustrious lineages are subject to decline when time and accumulated causes ripen; therefore one must face catastrophe with truthfulness and responsibility—preserving an accurate account, honoring relationships, and recognizing impermanence within dharma.
After the catastrophic internecine destruction of the Vṛṣṇi/Yādava clan, Vasudeva instructs that Arjuna—who is coming to Dvārakā—must be told the full report of the calamity, so he understands the fate that has overtaken the people of Dvārakā.
