कर्णार्जुनविवादेन सर्व संशयितं जगत् | स्वयम्भो ब्रूहि नस्तथ्यमेतयोर्विजयं प्रभो
karṇārjunavivādena sarvaṁ saṁśayitaṁ jagat | svayambho brūhi nas tathyam etayor vijayaṁ prabho ||
सञ्जय उवाच— कर्णार्जुनविवादेन सर्वं संशयितं जगत्। स्वयम्भो ब्रूहि नस्तथ्यम्—एतयोर्विजयं प्रभो॥
संजय उवाच

Sañjaya reports that the impending or ongoing clash between Karṇa and Arjuna has made everyone anxious and unsure of the outcome, and he appeals to the Self-born Lord (Svayambhū) to declare truthfully which of the two will attain victory.
