This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse: its function is to mark completion and identify the chapter’s focus as Arjuna’s speech. Ethically, it highlights how the epic frames responsibility and resolve through articulated intent—what a warrior declares and commits to in the midst of dharma-conflict.
The text is concluding a chapter in the Karṇa Parva, specifying that the chapter’s main subject was Arjuna’s words. It serves as an editorial/narrative boundary, signaling that the preceding discourse attributed to Arjuna has ended and the next section will begin.
