कर्णनिधनश्रवणम् — Hearing of Karṇa’s Fall and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Lament
तथा दौ:शासनि: शूरो बाहुशाली रणोत्कट: । द्रौपदेयेन सड़म्य गमितो यमसादनम्,अपने बाहुबलसे सुशोभित होनेवाला रणोन्मत्त शूर दुःशासनकुमार द्रौपदीके पुत्रसे टक्कर लेकर यमलोकमें जा पहुँचा
tathā dauḥśāsaniḥ śūro bāhuśālī raṇotkaṭaḥ | draupadeyena saṅgamya gamito yamasādanam ||
तथा दौःशासनि: शूरो बाहुशाली रणोत्कट: । द्रौपदेयेन सङ्गम्य गमितो यमसादनम् ॥
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights that martial strength and valor are transient; in the moral economy of the Mahābhārata, death in war functions as an impartial reckoning, where even the mighty fall when their time and consequences mature.
Sañjaya reports that Dauḥśāsani, Duḥśāsana’s son, engages a Draupadeya in battle and is slain—thus ‘sent’ to Yama’s abode.
