Sañjaya said: The blazing spear, as it flashed through the sky, was cut into pieces by seven arrows. Severed by the shafts of the great bowman, it fell down upon the earth—showing how, in the fury of war, even the most fearsome weapon is checked by superior skill and presence of mind.

Educational Q&A

Even in violent conflict, outcomes turn on alertness, skill, and timely action; a seemingly unstoppable force can be neutralized when met with superior mastery and composure.

A blazing śakti (spear-like weapon) is hurled; the great archer intercepts it in the sky and cuts it with seven arrows, after which the severed weapon falls to the ground.
