Adhyāya 35 — Bhīmasena’s Counter-Encirclement and the Karṇa Engagement Escalation

शितै: पृषत्कै: कुर्वाणानभ्रच्छायामिवाम्बरे । अस्यतः: क्षिण्वतश्नारील्लघुहस्तान्‌ दुरासदान्‌ | पार्थिवानपि चान्यांस्त्वं तदा नैवं वदिष्यसि

śitaiḥ pṛṣatkaiḥ kurvāṇān abhracchāyām ivāmbare | asyataḥ kṣiṇvataś śatrūl laghuhastān durāsadān || pārthivān api cānyāṁs tvaṁ tadā naivaṁ vadiṣyasi |

यदा त्वं पश्यसि तान् दुरासदान् पार्थिवान् लघुहस्तान् शितैः पृषत्कैः क्षिप्रं विकिरन्तः, अम्बरेऽभ्रच्छायामिव छायां कुर्वन्तः, निरन्तरं शरवर्षं मुञ्चन्तः शत्रून् क्षिण्वन्तश्च; यदा च धर्मपुत्रो युधिष्ठिरो नकुलः सहदेवश्चान्ये च दुर्जया भूपाला रणमध्ये प्रत्यक्षं प्रवर्तन्ते—तदा त्वं पुनरेवं गर्ववाक्यानि वक्तुं न शक्यसे।
