त्रिभिश्षिच्छेद सहसा तं च विव्याध पञठ्चभि: । सहसा अपने ऊपर आती हुई उस शक्तिको धर्मराज युधिष्ठिरने तीन तीखे बाणोंसे तत्काल काट डाला और दुर्योधनको भी पाँच बाणोंसे घायल कर दिया
sañjaya uvāca |
tribhiś ciccheda sahasā taṃ ca vivyādha pañcabhiḥ |
सञ्जय उवाच—सा शक्तिः सहसा तमभ्यपतत्; तां धर्मराजो युधिष्ठिरस्त्रिभिर्निशितैर्बाणैस्तत्क्षणादेव चिच्छेद। अनन्तरं स त्वरितं दुर्योधनमपि पञ्चभिर्बाणैर्विव्याध, तं च व्यथितमकरोत्।
संजय उवाच
Even amid violence, dharma expresses itself as composure and proportional response: first remove the imminent danger, then act firmly but without losing self-mastery.
A powerful weapon (śakti) rushes toward Yudhiṣṭhira; he immediately cuts it down with three arrows and then counters by wounding Duryodhana with five arrows, as Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra.
