Tripura-destruction exemplum and counsel to Śalya
तत्रातुष्यन्त योधाश्व सिद्धाश्चापि दिवि स्थिता:,सुतसोम जो वहाँ पैदल होकर भी रथपर बैठे हुए शकुनिके साथ युद्ध कर रहा था। उसके इस अविश्वसनीय और अद्भुत कर्मको देखकर वहाँ खड़े हुए समस्त योद्धा तथा आकाशकमें स्थित हुए सिद्धगण भी बहुत संतुष्ट हुए
tatrātuṣyanta yodhāś ca siddhāś cāpi divi sthitāḥ |
तत्रातुष्यन्त योधाश्च सिद्धाश्चापि दिवि स्थिताः। तस्य तदद्भुतं कर्म दृष्ट्वा समरेऽचिन्त्यम्॥ पदातिः सुतसोमोऽपि रथस्थं शकुनिं यथा। समयोधयत् तं दृष्ट्वा सर्वे हृष्टा बभूविरे॥
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how steadfast courage and exceptional martial resolve, when displayed openly in a righteous warrior context, draws recognition not only from human observers but also from higher celestial witnesses—suggesting that exemplary conduct in one’s duty (kṣatriya-dharma) earns universal approval.
Sañjaya reports that, at that moment in the battle, the assembled fighters were delighted, and even the Siddhas in heaven were pleased, because they had just witnessed an astonishing deed of prowess on the battlefield.
