iti vācaḥ samaśrūyante siddhānāṃ vai muhur muhuḥ | siṃhanādaś ca saṃjajñe sametānāṃ divaukasām ||
The verse highlights that human conflict is witnessed within a larger moral cosmos: perfected beings and gods respond with repeated proclamations and thunderous acclamation, suggesting that actions on the battlefield carry significance beyond the immediate human sphere.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that celestial beings (Siddhas) are repeatedly heard speaking, and that the assembled gods in the sky produce a lion-like roar—an epic sign of heightened, momentous events unfolding in the war.
