Subhadrā-vilāpaḥ — Subhadrā’s Lament for Abhimanyu
Droṇa-parva 55
yaśasvinaṃ kīrtimantaṃ tejasvinam arindamam | yasya mūtra-purīṣaṃ ca kledaḥ svedaś ca na kvacit ||
The verse uses hyperbolic praise to present an ideal of heroic excellence joined with complete purity—suggesting a being of exceptional, almost superhuman nature whose inner and outer condition is free from ordinary bodily impurities.
Vyāsa is describing a figure in exalted terms—famous, radiant, and victorious over enemies—adding a striking detail of bodily purity (no sweat or excretory impurity) to emphasize extraordinary status and awe in the midst of the war narrative.
