droṇena cchādyamānau tu kruddhau saṅgrāmamūrdhani
The verse highlights how, in war, anger and momentum can make even great fighters vulnerable: tactical superiority (here, Droṇa’s pressure) can ‘cover’ or overwhelm opponents, reminding readers that skill and composure matter as much as valor.
Sañjaya describes a critical moment in the battle where two enraged combatants (implied by the dual forms) are being pressed and obscured by Droṇa’s attack at the very forefront of the fighting.
