alambuṣo 'pi vikṣipya samutkṣipya ca rākṣasam ghaṭotkacaṃ raṇe roṣān niṣpipeṣa ca bhūtale |
अलम्बुषोऽपि विक्षिप्य समुत्क्षिप्य च राक्षसम् । घटोत्कचं रणे रोषान्निष्पिपेष च भूतले ॥
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how anger (roṣa) in warfare can escalate action into brutal excess; it implicitly contrasts unrestrained wrath with the ideal of self-control and measured conduct even amid conflict.
During the battle, Alambuṣa attacks Ghaṭotkaca, hurls and lifts him, and then crushes/grinds him against the ground, as Sañjaya reports the ferocity of their combat.
