Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the kṣatriya-world of the Mahābhārata: persistence and martial skill are praised in battle, yet the narration also implicitly reminds the listener of war’s harsh inevitability—repeated injury and escalation—inviting reflection on the moral cost of conflict.

Sañjaya reports to the king that the warrior Citrāsena, once again during the fight, hits Śatānīka with nine keen arrows, wounding him in the chest area.
