Hearing the reproach of Droṇa and the Sātyaki–Pārṣata dispute

The verse highlights how anger (krodha) can propel a warrior into extreme, destructive action. In the ethical frame of the epic, such wrath-driven escalation is a recurring cause of greater suffering, even when occurring within the accepted codes of battlefield combat.
Sanjaya reports that an enraged warrior launches a heavy, gold-ornamented mace toward Karna (Vaikartana) and his chariot, marking an intensification of the duel and the immediate threat to Karna’s position on the battlefield.
