The verse highlights moral uncertainty in warfare: when accusations of deceit arise, even a warrior’s judgment can be shaken, raising the question of what counts as righteous conduct (dharma) amid battlefield stratagems.
Arjuna addresses a king who is blaming him for allegedly using deceit while the king was engaged with another opponent. Arjuna responds that this reproach has unsettled his mind and judgment about the incident.
