Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s advance toward Droṇa and the Sātyaki–Karṇa confrontation

Arjuna asserts that senescence can cloud discernment; hence speech that ignores known truths—such as Kṛṣṇa’s lordship and Arjuna’s identity—becomes empty and blameworthy. The ethical emphasis is on speaking with proper understanding and restraint, especially in charged wartime discourse.
In the midst of the Drona Parva’s battlefield tensions, Arjuna responds sharply to a speaker whose words he deems misguided. He dismisses the preceding statement as the product of aged, weakened judgment and objects to the implied reproach directed at Kṛṣṇa and himself.
