Educational Q&A

Strength in a dharma-yuddha is shown not only by striking but by steadiness and moral resolve that steadies allies and unsettles opponents. Arjuna’s controlled, purposeful display symbolizes disciplined power—action aligned with duty rather than boastful speech.

Sañjaya describes Arjuna in the thick of battle twanging his bow Gāṇḍīva so powerfully that its deep resonance overwhelms the combined noise of other warriors’ bows, signaling Arjuna’s dominance and the shifting momentum on the field.
