Śalya–Bhīma Gadāyuddham (मद्रराज-भीमसेन गदायुद्धम्)
यमौ च द्रौपदेयाश्व साधु साधथ्विति चुक्रुशु: । यह देखकर विराट, ट्रुपद, धृष्टकेतु, युधिष्ठिर, सात्यकि, केकयराजकुमार, भीमसेन, धृष्टद्यम्न, शिखण्डी, नकुल, सहदेव तथा द्रौपदीके पाँचों पुत्र 'साधु, साधु" (बहुत अच्छा, बहुत अच्छा) कहकर कोलाहल करने लगे ।। बाणशब्दाश्न विविधा: सिंहनादाश्न पुष्कला:
sañjaya uvāca |
yamau ca draupadeyāś ca sādhu sādhv iti cukruśuḥ |
bāṇaśabdāś ca vividhāḥ siṃhanādāś ca puṣkalāḥ ||
सञ्जय उवाच—यमौ च द्रौपदेयाश्च “साधु साधु” इति चुक्रुशुः। ततः शराणां नानाशब्दाः सिंहनादाश्च पुष्कलाः समभवन्॥
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how martial success is publicly affirmed—‘sādhu, sādhu’—revealing the kṣatriya value placed on courage and effectiveness in battle, even as the epic invites reflection on how such praise can intensify the momentum of violence within a contested field of dharma.
Sañjaya reports that Nakula and Sahadeva along with Draupadī’s sons shout approval, and the battlefield swells with the whir and impact of arrows and with loud, lion-like war-cries—signaling a surge of excitement and escalation in the fighting.
