Śalya–Bhīma Gadāyuddham (मद्रराज-भीमसेन गदायुद्धम्)
tasya vidyudivā bhreṣu cāpaṃ hemapariṣkṛtam | bhramadrathāmbude cāsmin dṛśyate sama punaḥ punaḥ ||
The verse highlights how sustained resolve and disciplined action become visible through repeated, unmistakable signs—here, the steady flash of a warrior’s bow—suggesting that in crisis, perseverance and focus shape outcomes and inspire (or intimidate) others.
Sañjaya describes a warrior in the thick of combat: within a ‘cloud’ formed by swirling chariots, the warrior’s gold-adorned bow repeatedly flashes like lightning, emphasizing the intensity of the engagement and the fighter’s continuous activity.
