कर्ण-पाण्डव-संमर्दः — Karṇa and Arjuna’s Intensified Engagement
चापशब्दं ततः कृत्वा तलशब्दं च भैरवम् । अभ्यद्रवत राधेयो भीमसेनरथं प्रति,तदनन्तर धनुषकी टंकार और हथेलीका भयानक शब्द करते हुए राधानन्दन कर्णने भीमसेनके रथपर धावा बोल दिया
cāpaśabdaṃ tataḥ kṛtvā talaśabdaṃ ca bhairavam | abhyadravat rādhēyo bhīmasenarathaṃ prati ||
चापशब्दं ततः कृत्वा तलशब्दं च भैरवम् । अभ्यद्रवत् राधेयो भीमसेनरथं प्रति ॥
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the momentum of martial resolve—how warriors intensify battle through displays of confidence and intimidation—while implicitly reminding the reader that such prowess unfolds within a morally heavy war among kin, where courage and ethical burden coexist.
Karna (Radheya), after sounding his bow and making a fearsome hand-clap-like noise, rushes to engage Bhimasena by charging toward Bhima’s chariot, signaling the start or escalation of a direct confrontation.
