The verse highlights how auspicious rites and perceived omens can strengthen inner resolve (buddhi), creating confidence and joy that propel action—especially in the charged ethical atmosphere of war.
Sanjaya reports that brahmins perform blessing-rites interpreted as signaling victory, and the observer senses his own mind turning toward triumphant confidence, as if his intelligence itself is producing the joy of expected success.
