Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 114 — Karṇa–Bhīmasena Missile Exchange, Disarmament, and Arjuna’s Intervention
प्रयास्यामि तत: पश्चात् पदवीं सव्यसाचिन: । 'दुर्योधनके आदेशसे ये निश्चय ही मुझसे युद्ध करनेके लिये खड़े हैं। कुरुनन्दन! मैं आपका प्रिय करनेके लिये इन सबको संग्राममें मथकर सव्यसाची अर्जुनके मार्गपर जाऊँगा
prayāsyāmi tataḥ paścāt padavīṁ savyasācinaḥ |
सञ्जय उवाच—प्रयास्यामि ततः पश्चात् पदवीं सव्यसाचिनः । दुर्योधनाज्ञया ये मां युयुत्सन्ते दृढव्रताः ॥ तानहं मथयिष्यामि संग्रामे तव प्रियां कृतम् । कुरुनन्दन, ततः पश्चादर्जुनमार्गं व्रजाम्यहम् ॥
संजय उवाच
The verse foregrounds the warrior-ethic of resolve: one acts decisively in battle to accomplish an assigned aim, while framing that action as service to a superior’s intention—highlighting loyalty and duty, even amid morally weighty violence.
A combatant declares that after dealing with those who have taken their stand to fight under Duryodhana’s orders, he will press forward on the route associated with Arjuna (Savyasācin), indicating a strategic push through opposition to reach or follow Arjuna’s position.
