Adhyāya 113: Karṇa–Bhīma Śaravarṣa and the Battlefield Aftermath (कर्णभीमशरवर्षः)
avaśyaṃ tu mayā sarvaṃ vijñāpyaḥ tvaṃ narādhipa | vāsudevasya yad vākyaṃ phālgunasya ca dhīmataḥ ||
The verse emphasizes the ethical duty of truthful and complete communication: Sanjaya must convey Kṛṣṇa’s and Arjuna’s words without omission, because a king’s judgment and accountability depend on accurate knowledge.
Sanjaya addresses Dhṛtarāṣṭra, stating that he must report in full what Kṛṣṇa (Vāsudeva) and Arjuna (Phālguna) said—framing their statements as crucial guidance amid the unfolding events of the war.
