Droṇa-parva 112: Karṇa–Bhīma Engagement and Duryodhana’s Protective Order
droṇasya ca vyadṛśyanta visar panto mahāśarāḥ | gabhastaya ivārkasya pratapantaḥ samantataḥ ||

The verse highlights how concentrated martial power can become all-pervading and oppressive, symbolized by sunlike heat. Ethically, it invites reflection on the responsibility that accompanies strength: prowess may win battles, but its indiscriminate spread intensifies suffering and tests adherence to dharma amid chaos.
Sañjaya describes Droṇa’s assault: mighty arrows are visibly streaming outward in every direction, burning and overwhelming the battlefield like the sun’s rays. It is a vivid report of Droṇa’s dominance at that moment in the fighting.
