Educational Q&A

The verse highlights that sacred power (here, a radiant armor) gains authority through dharmic provenance: a divine gift transmitted through venerable figures. Such lineage implies rightful use and reinforces ethical legitimacy in a war setting.

Arjuna recounts the origin-history of a brilliant protective armor: it was first bestowed by the lord of the gods upon the sage Aṅgiras, then received by Bṛhaspati, and finally obtained by Indra (Purandara).
