रथस्थितोडग्रत: क्रोशं यानस्यत्यर्जुन: शरान् । रथे क्रोशमतिक्रान्ते तस्य ते घ्नन्ति शात्रवान्,रथपर बैठे हुए अर्जुन अपने आगे एक कोसकी दूरीतक जिन बाणोंको फेंकते थे, वे बाण उनके शत्रुओंका जबतक संहार करते, तबतक उनका रथ एक कोस और आगे निकल जाता था
rathasthito 'grataḥ krośaṃ yānasya tyarjunaḥ śarān | rathe krośam atikrānte tasya te ghnanti śātravān ||
सञ्जय उवाच— रथस्थितोऽर्जुनः शरानग्रतः क्रोशमात्रं व्यसर्जयत्। रथे क्रोशमतिक्रान्तेऽपि तस्य ते शरा शात्रवान् निघ्नन्ति स्म, तस्य कौशलवेगयोः प्रवाहं दर्शयन्तः।
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined excellence in one’s appointed duty (kṣātra-dharma): focused action, speed, and effectiveness, where skill is not mere display but a force that shapes the course of events in a righteous cause.
Sañjaya describes Arjuna’s extraordinary archery from his moving chariot: arrows shot a krośa ahead continue to fell enemies even as the chariot advances another krośa, emphasizing the sustained lethality and reach of his attack during the battle.
