भीष्मशिबिरगमनम् — Duryodhana’s Visit to Bhīṣma’s Camp and the Command Appeal
तथैव सात्वतो राजन हार्दिक्य: परवीरहा । अभ्यद्रवत संग्रामे पाण्डवानां वरूथिनीम्,नरेश्वर! इसी प्रकार शत्रुवीरोंका विनाश करनेवाले सात्वतवंशी कृतवर्माने उस संग्राममें पाण्डवोंकी सेनापर आक्रमण किया
tathaiva sātvato rājan hārdikyaḥ paravīrahā | abhyadravat saṅgrāme pāṇḍavānāṃ varūthinīm, nareśvara ||
तथैव सात्वतो राजन् हार्दिक्यः परवीरहा । अभ्यद्रवत् संग्रामे पाण्डवानां वरूथिनीम् ॥
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores how lineage, reputation, and martial duty propel warriors into action; it also implicitly raises the ethical tension of celebrated heroism being expressed through violence in war.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Kṛtavarmā, a Sātvata warrior known for killing enemy champions, charged into the battle against the Pandavas’ army formation.
