अभिवद्रुतं शस्त्रभृतां वरिष्ठ समनन््ततः: पाण्डवं लोकवीर: । सैन्येन घोरेण सुसंहितेन दृष्टवा बली पार्षतो भीमसेनम्
sañjaya uvāca | abhivadrutaṃ śastrabhṛtāṃ variṣṭhaṃ samantataḥ pāṇḍavaṃ lokavīraḥ | sainyena ghoreṇa susaṃhitena dṛṣṭvā balī pārṣato bhīmasenam ||
अभिद्रुतं शस्त्रभृतां वरिष्ठं समन्ततः पाण्डवं लोकवीरम्। सैन्येन घोरेण सुसंहितेन दृष्ट्वा बली पार्षतो भीमसेनम्॥
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights a martial ethic: valor is shown by engaging the foremost opponent, and disciplined, well-formed troops are portrayed as a duty-bound expression of kṣatriya conduct—even when the action is grim and destructive.
Sañjaya describes Dhṛṣṭadyumna (called Pārṣata) noticing Bhīma, the foremost among armed warriors, and charging him from all sides with a terrifying, well-organized contingent.
