संजय उवाच
The verse frames sacred geography as ethically and spiritually consequential: a holy realm is described as puṇya (merit-giving) and as fulfilling legitimate human aims, while also being associated with siddhas and cāraṇas—figures that signify spiritual accomplishment and the preservation of sacred fame.
Sañjaya is describing a revered region in traditional cosmography, explaining its sanctity and why the eternal land is known by the name ‘Jambūdvīpa’—a designation derived from the name of the celebrated feature/place being praised.
