The verse highlights steadfast mutual loyalty: even across an extraordinarily long lifespan, the parties described remain committed and do not forsake one another—an ethical ideal of constancy and fidelity.
Sañjaya is reporting to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, describing certain beings/parties as living for an immense span of time (ten thousand plus one thousand years) and emphasizing their unbroken mutual attachment and refusal to abandon each other.
