V
Vaiśampāyana

Educational Q&A

Greed and delusion generate a hoarding mentality that corrupts discernment; from that corrupted judgment arise sinful actions that disturb and harm other beings. The verse frames inner vice (lobha, moha) as the root cause of outward social suffering.

Vaiśampāyana continues a moral exposition, describing the behavioral pattern of a person dominated by greed: he turns toward accumulation, becomes mentally impure, and through wrongful conduct causes fear and distress among living beings.
