Book 14, Chapter 89
यज्ञवाटे च यत् किंचिद् हिरण्यं सविभूषणम्,यज्ञशालामें भी जो कुछ सुवर्ण या सोनेके आभूषण, तोरण, यूप, घड़े, बर्तन और इंटें थीं, उन सबको भी युधिष्ठिरकी आज्ञा लेकर ब्राह्मणोंने आपसमें बाँट लिया
yajñavāṭe ca yat kiñcid hiraṇyaṃ savibhūṣaṇam |
यज्ञवाटे च यत्किञ्चिद्धिरण्यं सविभूषणम्। युधिष्ठिरानुज्ञया तद्ब्राह्मणैर्व्यभज्यत॥
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Wealth associated with sacred rites should be redistributed as rightful gifts (dakṣiṇā) under proper authority, reflecting dharma through generosity, transparency, and social responsibility.
During Yudhiṣṭhira’s sacrificial proceedings, the gold and ornaments present in the sacrificial area are, with his permission, apportioned among the Brāhmaṇas as part of the ritual gifting.
