एवमेतदिति प्राहुस्तदभूल्लोमहर्षणम् । उनके ऐसा कहनेपर भीमसेन आदि भाइयों और द्रौपदीने एक स्वरसे कहा--'हाँ, महाराजका कहना ठीक है।” इस महान् त्यागकी बात सुनकर सबके रोंगटे खड़े हो गये
evam etad iti prāhus tad abhūl lomaharṣaṇam |
एवमेतदिति प्राहुस्तदभूल्लोमहर्षणम् । एवमुक्तेऽपि भीमसेनादयः भ्रातरः सह द्रौपद्या एकस्वरेणोचुः—“आम्, राज्ञो वचनं युक्तम्” इति । एतस्य महात्यागस्य वृत्तान्तं श्रुत्वा सर्वेषां लोमा हर्षेण समुत्थितानि ॥
वैशम्पायन उवाच
True ethical greatness is recognized not by force or victory but by renunciation and right judgment; when a ruler’s dharmic decision is affirmed unanimously by the virtuous, it becomes a moment of moral awe (lomaharṣaṇa).
Vaiśampāyana reports that Bhīma, the other Pāṇḍavas, and Draupadī respond together, affirming the king’s statement as correct; the narration emphasizes that the described act of great renunciation moves the listeners deeply, producing a collective sense of reverent astonishment.
