यस्मिंस्ते कुण्डले बद्धे तदा द्विजवरेण वै । उस समय उनकी दृष्टि बेलोंपर ही लगी हुई थी (वे कहाँ गिरते हैं
yasmiṁs te kuṇḍale baddhe tadā dvijavareṇa vai |
वैशम्पायन उवाच—तदा द्विजवरेण तौ कुण्डलेऽजिने बद्धे। तस्य दृष्टिः केवलं लतास्वेवासीत्; छिन्ना लताः कुत्र पतन्तीति न स बुबुधे। तेन छिन्नानां लतानां प्रायशः सर्वाः तस्मिन्नेवाजिने पपातुः, यस्मिन् तौ कुण्डले बद्धे।
