Kṛṣṇa–Arjuna Saṃvāda in Indraprastha: Consolation, Legitimation, and Leave for Dvārakā (आश्वमेधिकपर्व, अध्याय १५)
स तमाथ्चवास्य विधिवद् विज्ञानज्ञों महातपा: । अपदहृत्यात्मनो भारं विशश्रामेव सात्वत:
sa tam āśvāsya vidhivad vijñānajño mahātapāḥ | apadahṛtyātmano bhāraṃ viśaśrāmeva sāttvataḥ ||
वैशम्पायन उवाच—स तमर्थं चास्य विधिवद् विज्ञानज्ञो महातपाः। अपदहृत्यात्मनो भारं विशश्रामेव सात्वतः॥
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Right counsel given in a proper, dharmic manner can lighten another’s distress and also release the counselor from the weight of responsibility; ethical leadership includes restoring steadiness and clarity after trauma.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Kṛṣṇa, described as a great ascetic and knower of discernment, consoles Arjuna according to proper procedure; after reassuring him, Kṛṣṇa seems to rest, as though having set aside his own burden.
